heyy! tysm for this video. i'm gonna attempt making this next week but i have a quick question before i start shopping the ingredients. how much foam did you use for this? i mean how much meter of 5mm and 10mm foam?:( tysm for the answer in advance!!
No worries at all! I hope it comes in handy! So I had a 1meter X 1meter sheet of 5mm foam and still had over half left after making this. 10mm I used scraps I had so used barely any at all! Hope this answers your question!
What is the wearability of this? Like is it heavy? and how would you suggest making it to fit to wear properly? Amazing work btw! I love the Saw movies and I've wanted to make one of these for so long.
It's fully wearable! It's slightly heavy due to the nuts and bolts but not uncomfortable by any means! And making it fit would just be to print the template off smaller or bigger than you need. The template is for a larger head so printing it off in multiples of 10% smaller would help 😊
hey, very VERY GREAT video! I love the accuracy of the trap and the enthusiasm of you. And cannot explain how greatful I am to have this template, im making a dbd pig cosplay and this is the first time I actually make one by myself so im so excited. I do have a question can the trap be held on the top for a extended amount of time w/o any damage? Im going to conventions so I would like to know and can I print ALL the template out 10% larger or small to fit my head? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO
Thank you so much for such an awesome comment! ☺️ I’m so glad you like the video! And yes, I’ve worn it for quite a while and thrown my head around wearing it and it was no problem at all! You might need to add some padding on the inside so it doesn’t wobble around if you find it’s a little big but you shouldn’t have any problems at all ☺️☺️ You can print the template to whatever percentage you want! If you need it larger, if you press the “poster” button when printing on pdf printer, it will print over multiple pages to make it bigger 👍
@@TheFoamWitch thanks for the answer, such an underrated channel! Im new at making props so I will encounter some problems and be asking a load of other questions😭 Thanks again for the video, hope your channel will continue to grow‼️
@thelordofsimps6095 ah thank you! And I’m always here to answer any questions you might have! I’m working on a beginner foam crafting video as we speak so hopefully that will help too ☺️
This is AMAZING. Thank you so much for the template! I am going to pick up supplies for this after work. Is there any chance you could provide an estimate of how many sheets (or how long a roll) of 5mm and 10mm foam is needed for the entire piece? I'm guessing maybe 10 sheets total based on the 6 pages of the template + duplicate pieces + details + possible errors. lol (Also, I'd love to see the reverse bear trap on!) Thank you!
No worries! I hope it helps! And for this project, it depends what size the sheets are. I had 1 sheet of 1mx1m 5mm foam which I used and I still had quite a lot left. It barely used any 10mm foam as only a few pieces are 10mm so I mainly just used scrap pieces I had! And if you check out my Instagram, there are loads of photos of me wearing it 👍👍
Thank you soooo much! I’m following and it looks incredible. Very well done! You can count on at least 10 more views from me while I assemble my own reverse bear trap!❤
Wow this is very impressive. I am making this for halloween since the cheapest prop I could find was more than 300 dollars. What kind of glue did you use? Thank you for the tutorial!
When I made this, I was using contact adhesive, but I don’t use that anymore. I now use specifically for foam hot glue sticks from Tyges Supplies. But I know people have made this using regular hot glue and also superglue so it’s your choice ☺️👍
Sorry I got a bit lost in the first part what is that middle piece at 1:58 when you put together those three pieces for the jaw? In the template is it that back section to stick its curved but in the video a square strip so im a lil confused? thanks
Yeah it looks a little different because it's just a slightly different shape on the template because I changed it slightly to be more accurate on the template. It's on page 4 and it's labelled "back section to stick jaw pieces to"! When I made it, I just used a square piece and trimmed the edges to be curved, but on the template, it's already curved for you ☺️

Hi! I’m interested in making this for Halloween, but I had a few questions - Firstly, how much foam would you say you used for this? Secondly, could you potentially list all of the resources you used/resources you’d say is absolutely necessary for this project? And finally, how long would you say this project took you in total? And how long do you believe this would take for a complete beginner to make this? Thank you!
Hi there! So I had a 1mx1m sheet of 5mm foam and had more than half of it left once I had built it. 10mm I used scraps so barely any at all! Absolutely necessary is foam or cardboard, a craft knife and glue. Then sealer either PVA glue or mod podge or something like hexflex or plastidip and then paint. Everything else I used is completely optional and all the hardware could be made using the foam is needed. This took me about 4 days to make. Hope this answers your questions and helps 👍

Thanks for the confirmation on sizing.
I look forward to seeing you're future tutorials and projects.
All the best!
Insanely good 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!! ☺️☺️☺️
I built this today..thank you .
Ah, amazing! I bet you did a great job!
OMG!! Good vid! Im gonna try to make it today!
Heck yeah!! Let me know how it turns out ☺️☺️
Making this for my job as a scare actor with 3 days, no money, and no experience. Thoughts and prayers💀
@@isabellaguerrero5194 heck yeah! That sounds awesome! And you will do a great job! I’m sure of it ☺️☺️
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO, JUST IN TIME FOR NEXT HALLOWEEN! HEHE ❤
So glad it will help ☺️☺️
Killer job
🤘🤣 love it! Thank you!!
lo hice en 2 horas con un dolar de presupuesto , quedo pasable, gracias
That’s awesome! I’m glad the template helped ☺️☺️
This is brilliant!
Thank you so much! 😊😊
heyy! tysm for this video. i'm gonna attempt making this next week but i have a quick question before i start shopping the ingredients. how much foam did you use for this? i mean how much meter of 5mm and 10mm foam?:( tysm for the answer in advance!!
No worries at all! I hope it comes in handy!
So I had a 1meter X 1meter sheet of 5mm foam and still had over half left after making this. 10mm I used scraps I had so used barely any at all!
Hope this answers your question!
@@TheFoamWitch you're an angel! thank you so much once again! ❤️❤️
@@schnucki2459 can't wait to see what you come up with ☺️☺️
What is the wearability of this? Like is it heavy? and how would you suggest making it to fit to wear properly? Amazing work btw! I love the Saw movies and I've wanted to make one of these for so long.
It's fully wearable! It's slightly heavy due to the nuts and bolts but not uncomfortable by any means! And making it fit would just be to print the template off smaller or bigger than you need. The template is for a larger head so printing it off in multiples of 10% smaller would help 😊
Nice your really creative 😊😊❤❤ love it u have awesome talent 😊
Thank you so much 😊😊
hey, very VERY GREAT video!
You might need to add some padding on the inside so it doesn’t wobble around if you find it’s a little big but you shouldn’t have any problems at all ☺️☺️
You can print the template to whatever percentage you want! If you need it larger, if you press the “poster” button when printing on pdf printer, it will print over multiple pages to make it bigger 👍
@@TheFoamWitch thanks for the answer, such an underrated channel! Im new at making props so I will encounter some problems and be asking a load of other questions😭
Thanks again for the video, hope your channel will continue to grow‼️
@thelordofsimps6095 ah thank you! And I’m always here to answer any questions you might have!
I’m working on a beginner foam crafting video as we speak so hopefully that will help too ☺️
I will have less than 10 days to make this but ill try my best with no experience at all Xd ;)
You can do it! I believe in you!! ☺️☺️
I’m gonna try this out because of the replica reverse bear traps I’ve come across are way to pricey
I hope it helps 😊😊
love it, nice one
Thank you!! ☺️☺️
Best one I’ve seen!
Oh my! Thank you so much!!!
Awesome work! Isn't there another version of this in one of the sequels without the batwing panels on the mouth parts?
Thank you!
And yes there was! There was a new version in saw VI that Jill used on Hoffman... maybe I should make that one too! 🤔😂
Superb 👏 👏 👏 👏
Thank you so much!! 😊🤘
If it's not much to ask, could you teach/show how to make a Ghostface mask someday? 👀
That's a pretty cool idea! I will totally consider it ☺️☺️
Wow this is very impressive.
When I made it, I just used a square piece and trimmed the edges to be curved, but on the template, it's already curved for you ☺️
Thank you so much!! You are so thorough and helpful, i’m going to try and make it by halloween🤞🏻It’s already a little janky but i’ve never done this before lol and there’s no way i’d be able to do it without you! You’re awesome🫶🏻
@@carolinekelley1987 it makes me so happy to hear that this is proving helpful to people and that people who have never made stuff before are giving it a go! 🥰 I’m sure you are doing a great job and it will look awesome!! 👏👏
you are an absolute saint for this omg!!!!!!!!! im halfway through making my reverse beartrap rn and your template + video are so coherent and thought out thank u sm
Ah thank you so much for such kind words! 🥰🥰🥰 I’m so glad it’s helping!
And absolutely, cardboard is totally ok! I know a lot of people who have made this with cardboard and they look epic! 🤘🤘
